PRESENT PERFECT YET AND ALREADY

We use the Present Perfect with already to talk about things that finished at some point in the past.

We use already in affirmative sentences. We set it between have and the past participle.

She has already caught the thief.

He has already finished her homework.

They have already broken the deal.

We use the present perfect with yet to talk about things that aren´t finished.

We use yet in questions and negative sentences.

She hasn´t caught the thief yet

Has she caught the thief yet?

He hasn´t finished her homework yet.

Has he finished her homework yet?

They haven´t broken the deal yet

UNIT 2 GRAMMAR 1

Past simple vs Present perfect

We use the present perfect tense to describe unfinished time. With the present perfect the action is related to the present.

Instead, the past simple tense is used to express finished time. The simple past is used for actions that have ended in the past, even if they have occurred in the recent past.

INDEFINITE PRONOUNS

Indefinite pronouns are pronouns that are used to refer to people or things without mentioning who or what exactly they are. In other words, an indefinite pronoun does not directly refer to any particular person, animal or thing. It is ‘not definite’ and vague. 

It is important to pay attention if the sentence is affirmative, negative or interrogative and if it refers to a person, an object or a place.

Examples:

• I see something interesting on this website.
• There isn´t anywhere to go.
• There isn´t anybody on the island.
• Somebody told me to download the document.
• Is there anything we can do to get in without a password?
